Can I Beat A US College Athlete? (& Former Student) #tennis
I’ve started a new series of videos where I play matches against a range of players and coaches whilst both wearing microphones. As well as being a fun way for me to make you videos, it’s going to mean that I can actually start playing more tennis and hopefully share some useful insights with you.
In episode 4, I face former student and current US college athlete, George. During the video we also chat about US college life so is an informative video for those interested in college tennis. Let me know what you think of this format?

5 Tennis Hacks To INSTANTLY Improve Your Game
Dude's just mocking Rafa keep it 💯
Buenísimo 👏👏
In singles hit higher over the net than in doubles because you don’t want to make it too easy for the net player.
I’m begging you ro hit a backhand once
Slinger Bag customer service is top notch. Had an issue with the feeder, was unable to rectify after going through the trouble shooting. Slinger Bag exchanged in three business days. They followed up to ensure the replacement machine was registered for the warranty period.
😂😂😂
When you say knuckle, is it the thumb knuckle you mean?
LMFAO i see wta players netblast all the time
I AGREE,,,TOTALLY (FOR BOTH,YOUR AMAZING TIP AND THE RACQUET S CHOICE)
Oh my God, this is what we need when we are looking for good reviews of new rackets. Great job! Thank you, bro
thats why they love doing slice backhand as return bcause they dont need much grip change from their forehand
Haha sinner saw through Ashley before hitting
Federer's footwork in the middle third of the court. He floated around to set his shots up. And Federer's serve placement. He would hit line after line. With his serve. David Ferrer's intensity and focus every point.
Wow.. Next time I'll try to serve in the bathtub... Amazing idea.. 😂😅
It helps me. Helps me to take more risks, and be less inhibited
Great idea ...wish the TV would show court level views.
What a brilliant idea 😀
What if you use the same grip for everything lol
You can chill and enjoy the match!
I usually get frustrated about my own strokes not at the person I play against. So keeping myself calm and collected performing my groundstrokes helps me tremendously in rallies. However, to have explosive footwork, I, from time to time actually slap myself in the face to be more energetic. 😂
Love the hat
This is a really cool dynamic!
Brilliant! Thanks!
It sounds fun, but when you're concentrating on the ball, do you forget to count?
Pregnant with my second kid, 5 months. I’m still playing but I feel myself slowing down. When I have to stop and after having her, I will be watching matches and using your advice! Ty
Is it a T-fibre raqueat in your hand😅
Innovative tip,
There is a certain level of stress often released as anger that can improve a person's performance. However, controlling this is hard and if the anger levels go to high performance will drop off like jumping off a cliff. From a performance psychology perspective its about understanding how our players handle stress.
I'm Nick not Mac in this unfortunately. The other day I did get riled up when the guy didn't want to give me a let on a point where I Def should've gotten one. I made 7-8 points in a row, determined to not give him a single point anymore. Lead 4-1 but then I was empty. I definitely thrive better when I'm calm and focus on my in between point routine. Lately I've been having some serious injuries and I get so angry with my body that it's hard for me to let go and accept it in a match. Lots of frustration lately.
creative idea
well. I. breake. my. tv. 😢
Новый взгляд на тренировки, особенно когда тренироваться уже не охота.😢
Your return grip should be combination of forehand and backhand, so that you can just react on big serves. You don't have any time on big serves to worry about grip.
The warm-up I do before hitting is shadow tennis my grip changes; getting the muscle memory of smoothly transitioning from my forehand to backhand and back to forehand. It helps a lot, especially when transitioning grips in the heat of play. When I rally with friends in a doubles setting, even if the ball isn't being hit towards me, I can change my grip accordingly based on the side it is being hit towards. Being able to recognize the ball even if it isn't directed towards you helps to learn how to cleanly transition from forehand to backhand and vice versa. Creating muscle memory, which can result in cleaner tennis.
😂
To everyone complaining about needing spin or you'll hit long. Reduce your pace. Aim your shot. You'd be amazed how easily the average club pro can kick your ass just moving the ball around safely and with their shoes untied.
I see, let me swing with the racquet head speed of a pro tennis player next time I hit :)
Just how fast they serve. Obviously you understand they serve fast, but i watched a practice set at indian wells right above the players and oh my god does it look faster in person.
who?
I watched Ben Shelton practice at a summer camp in Florida. He was practicing serves and volleys. I could barely even see his serves at all.
well played both
excelentes siempre los videos super instructivos harriet no sera familiar mio solo cambiamos algunas letras jaja
amateur think hit close to the net and still not hit the net is prove of thousand hours of training and they think they R so good at tennis
Which is better for supernators? Overpronade?
amazing advice on choking up the handle!!! I will def try it. thanks!!!
Great match, guys! Fantastic playing. Looks like George opted to go with the mic without the deadcat (windmuff). Definitely will help to have that on in the future to help with wind noise, especially with running around. Other option is to run the mics in stereo mode and record to individual L and R tracks then double in post production. Always enjoy watching your videos!
It varies with me, I fire myself up and sometimes it helps. Though I’d prefer to be calm and excepting of situations. I’ll think about it again, when I’m not so angry!😂
Definitely hinders, I lose all focus
Man this is a masterpiece Ashley, I'm a young tennis coach and I think these is absolutely correct. This video should yet millions of visits. Keep the grind 💪
For me it helps because I get angry and get myself together and play more aggressive.
13:13 A lot of talking 🤣
